October 2017

Every year, we celebrate people who make real change happen in our communities. This year, we honored our Champion for Children, Sarah Eagan, and had the honor of hearing the inspiring story of a resilient woman and dedicated mother, Davine.

Champion for Children Spotlight

As Child Advocate, Sarah speaks out on many issues that threaten the safety and well-being of children, and speaks up for improvements in services that support their healthy growth and development.

Among her many accomplishments, Sarah helped The Village build capacity to serve children on the autism spectrum in our residential program by connecting us with training for our staff and expertise to develop targeted programming for our children.

“I am different now because I have hope.”

Davine’s success story from her time with The Village’s Family Financial Stability Initiative [link] was inspiring and uplifting. The audience was moved to tears after watching Davine’s video and hearing her remarks.

Awesome Auxilians

We can never thank our Auxilians enough. They run three Second Chance Shops and donate the proceeds to The Village. This past year, they raised $256,000 and over the past two decades, contributed over $4.2 million to The Village! Amazing!
