The volunteer-run Glastonbury, Simsbury, and Suffield Auxiliaries of The Village for Families & Children have been supporting programs that help transform the lives of children and families for well over 50 years.
Nearly 500 women and men came together at The Village for Families & Children’s Girl Within Luncheon on December 2nd, raising over $153,000 to support life-changing programs for at-risk girls and young women in the Greater Hartford area.
The Village for Families & Children has honored Alison Coolbrith with its 2016 Woman of the Year award at the December 2 Girl Within Luncheon in Hartford. Coolbrith was a longtime advocate for women's advancement in education and business until her untimely passing on October 31, 2015.
The Village for Families & Children was awarded a $155,000 grant from the LEGO Community Fund U.S. to start an innovative program to build language skills in young children.
Located in Hartford’s Asylum Hill neighborhood, The Village for Families & Children’s RAMBUH Family Center is a place where families can enjoy their community, access resources, and grow and learn in a safe environment.
Cigna’s Brett Browchuk, Senior Vice President, Service Operations, presented a check to Galo Rodriguez, The Village President & CEO for $10,000 to renovate a classroom for children in The Village’s Extended Day Treatment (EDT) program in Hartford.
The weather cooperated as 124 golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf on the lush Shuttle Meadow golf course in Kensington, helping to raise nearly $90,000 for fatherhood programs of The Village for Families & Children.
