Each day, The Village works with adolescents and their families struggling with substance abuse through our Multidimensional Family Therapy program. Nickesha Coley-Reid is a clinician with the MDFT program, and provides therapeutic services for these adolescents (ages 9-18) and their families. She spends time holding individual parent sessions, individual adolescent sessions and family sessions 2-3 times a week for each of her cases, and provides support for crisis stabilization.
Beyond significantly decreasing or eliminating substance abuse, Nickesha and the MDFT program work to help these youth develop healthy lifestyles and improve overall family functioning by strengthening relationships and fostering healthy communications.
Nickesha is certified in Multidimensional Family Therapy and has her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to joining The Village in 2013, she worked as a fee-for-service clinician and facilitated anger management and relapse prevention groups. At The Village, she serves on the Staff Engagement Committee and has received several recognitions for positive teamwork with her colleagues.
