When fathers are involved in their children’s lives, everyone benefits. The Village is working to support fathers in strengthening their parenting skills and involvement in their children’s lives through our new Fatherhood Engagement Services program.
In his role as Fatherhood Engagement Supervisor, Don Crocker leads a team of Fatherhood Engagement Specialists in helping fathers enhance their parent-child bonds and parenting skills.
“I want to help build up the community where I live by supporting fathers in their homes,” Don says. “I’m here to be a resource to help families be successful in all areas of their lives.
Through intensive outreach, case management services and group programming, Don and his team teach fathers skills and characteristics to be positive, reliable figures in their children’s lives. He trains and supervises each Fatherhood Engagement Specialist to help them provide high-quality services to each father they serve.
Before joining The Village last year, Don served as a Domestic Violence Facilitator at Families in Crisis, a Fatherhood Specialist for incarcerated fathers, and an Equity Facilitator for The Alliance for Bloomfield’s Children. Don earned his Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Post University.
