Alison Gill Lodge is a therapeutic group home for girls aged 13-19 who are dealing with emotional and behavioral challenges. The program helps young women – many who have previously been hospitalized or received residential treatment – adjust to a smaller, community-based, home-like setting before transitioning to a lower level of care, typically a family setting, group home or supervised apartment. The program accommodates up to six residents and the average length of stay is one year.
While at Alison Gill Lodge, residents attend public or therapeutic schools in the area. The Village’s skilled staff provides intensive treatment to help the young women deal with myriad traumas and behavioral issues including anxiety, mood and disruptive behavior disorders, sexual, physical or emotional abuse, truancy, family problems, criminal activity and alcohol/drug use.
Treatment includes weekly individual, group, family and recreation therapy. The young women also receive help with health management and nutrition, crisis management, independent living skills, and participate in community volunteer, enrichment and social activities.
