URGENT CRISIS CENTERS

Let’s face it together.

Let’s face it together.

When your child is experiencing a mental health crisis, you don’t have to face it alone. Connecticut’s Urgent Crisis Centers (UCCs) provide immediate care from professionals specializing in child behavioral health. You will be seen and heard right away. Without an appointment or referral. Without going to the emergency room. UCCs can help your child through:

  • Thoughts of suicide or self-injury
  • Feelings of depression, anxiety or hopelessness
  • Out-of-control behaviors
  • Substance misuse
  • Any behavior beyond what you can handle alone

The UCCs will help to deescalate the crisis, evaluate your child and connect your family to services – all in just hours instead of days or weeks.

We’re here when you need us.

UCCs are walk-in clinics, providing immediate access to professional mental health resources. UCCs are the right choice if your child needs the help of a social worker or behavioral health specialist to deescalate a crisis. However, if your child needs immediate medical attention, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

UCC staff will:

  • Provide crisis stabilization support
  • Complete a comprehensive mental health assessment
  • Work with families to develop a safety plan
  • Connect children directly with additional services
