As families in Connecticut face a historic mental health crisis exacerbated by the pandemic, inflation and other causes, CVS Health Foundation is stepping up to bolster behavioral health and other support services for families in Greater Hartford through a $25,000 “Hometown Fund” grant backing The Village for Families & Children’s work across region.
The funds will help local children, adults and families overcome life’s challenges through The Village’s range of behavioral health, early childhood, substance use treatment and support services.
The CVS Health Foundation Hometown Fund invests in local nonprofits that are advancing health equity, addressing social determinants of health and increasing access to workforce training and education in communities they call home.
“The Village is both grateful and fortunate to have CVS Health Foundation as a neighbor and partner in our hometown of Hartford,” said Village President and CEO Galo Rodriguez. “Their shared dedication to the thousands of families we serve across the region is palpable in their generous support of our work and mission.”
In the last year, The Village worked to improve the health, well-being and success of more than 18,500 clients in Hartford and 58 surrounding towns through outpatient services, early childhood and youth support, addiction and recovery support and financial wellness resources.
