As Connecticut braces for more subzero windchills during one of the coldest—and snowiest—winters in years, The Village for Families & Children is seeking community support to ensure that local children stay safe and warm through its annual #FeelTheLove campaign.
Each year, The Village provides more than 500 children in Greater Hartford with new winter coats, hats, scarves and mittens to help keep them warm—and this year, the need is far greater due to extreme cold and financial strain on families.
“Every child deserves a warm winter coat that fits them and keeps them protected from harsh winter temperatures. Through this effort, we’re not only aiming to provide essential gear but also alleviate families’ financial stress, which we know has a significant impact on their mental health and overall wellbeing,” said Village President & CEO Hector Glynn. “Any contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.”

The Village serves thousands of children each year, many of whom depend on these critical items to stay warm. Online donations will supply new winter gear and give families in need one less thing to worry about. To help, visit thevillage.org/love and make an online donation.
