The Village Named a Top Workplace for Fourth Year in a Row, Earns National Recognition as a Top Non-Profit

September 26, 2023

The Village has been named a 2023 Top Workplace by The Hartford Courant, marking the organization’s fourth consecutive year receiving the award. The Village was also one of six non-profits in Connecticut to be awarded a National Top Workplaces Non-Profit Industry Award, which is the second time The Village has received this recognition on a national scale.

This year, The Village was again honored for its people-first, company culture, receiving additional cultural excellence awards in areas of innovation, leadership and purpose and values.

“We are honored to receive this award for the fourth year in a row and to be recognized nationally as a top nonprofit. It means so much that this recognition comes directly from our staff and they know that The Village is just as committed to them as we are to those we serve,” said Village President & CEO Galo Rodriguez. “We focus on supporting our staff every day, and we’re always looking for new people to join our mission to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children.”

The awards are based on anonymous employee surveys that examine how employees feel their organization works together toward a common cause, as well as the company’s values, encouragement of new ideas, learning and development opportunities and commitment to diversity and equity efforts.

This year, 59 organizations and businesses in Connecticut earned the Top Workplace distinction. About one-third of those are in same category as The Village, midsize (150-499 employees). Overall, 1,435 employers in Connecticut were invited to participate in the survey after nominations.

The 2023 awards mark The Village’s fourth consecutive year as a Connecticut Top Workplace—the fourth time in the last five years. It is also the second time The Village has been awarded the National Top Workplaces Non-Profit Industry Award since the first-ever award of this kind was given in 2021.
