It’s safe to say that Deborah leads from her heart and her head. A consummate human resources professional, Deborah has made the conscious choice to dedicate her many skills and talents to serving those who need it most.

Joining The Village in August 2018 with an extensive background in human resources and management, Deborah works with her staff to provide the full range of human resource services for employees of The Village. As a key member of the executive management team, Deborah takes a leadership role in providing services that support the concept that our employees are our most valuable resource and will be treated as such.

Specifically, Deborah and the Human Resources team assist in attracting and retaining qualified employees and help to create an optimal work environment for obtaining sustained high productivity, continuous improvement, organizational renewal, and exceptional customer service. They also work with management and staff to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local laws related to personnel and equal opportunity employment.

Prior to joining The Village, Deborah served for over ten years as Director of Human Resources for Connecticut Community Care, Inc., a nonprofit based in Bristol, CT that provides services to help people of all ages, abilities and incomes to live at home. She also served in HR leadership positions for  CIGNA Healthcare, Rushford Center, University of Saint Joseph, KAMAN Industrial Technologies, CALDOR, and Connecticut Natural Gas.

She has also served on the Governor’s Committee for Employees with Disabilities since 2005.

Deborah earned her Master’s in Adult and Vocational Education with a concentration in Organizational Development, from The University of Connecticut, and her bachelor’s in Human Resources Management from Quinnipiac University.

I played soccer in college.

What do you most want clients of The Village to know about you?
I believe that everyone…no matter who that person is, how much money they have, or where they live… should have as much opportunity as possible to pursue a healthier life.
