Here at The Village, we know how vital collaboration is to help children and families become strong and resilient. That’s why we’re so excited to announce the launch of Stronger Families, Stronger Futures (SF2)!
Through this new collaboration, otherwise known as SF2, The Village will lead the creation of an integrated family support system in partnership with several community organizations in central and northeastern Connecticut. With initial funding from the Office of Early Childhood and the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, SF2 provides home visiting programs to and expands access to services, support and resources for families through a network of providers and Family Centers.
At its core, SF2 takes a holistic approach to support parents and caregivers of children prenatal to age five to deepen their bonds with their children, enhance their parenting skills and increase their understanding of child development to help their child reach their ultimate potential.
Through this extensive partner network, families can also connect with resources and providers that encompass healthcare, mental health care, basic needs, education, employment, financial management, and more.
The SF2 partner network includes: The Village, Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Hartford, City of Hartford – Health & Human Services, Family Life Education, Hartford Hospital, Hartford HealthCare at Home, Hispanic Health Council, Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, and Urban League of Greater Hartford.
Families will benefit from individualized services that best meet their unique needs. Services are strengths-based, family-driven and trauma-informed, and designed to enhance the social-emotional, physical and economic wellbeing of children and families. We call that a win for families, as well as our communities!
