With more than 120 golfers hitting the greens, The Village for Families & Children’s 13th Annual Foursomes for Fatherhood Golf Classic at TPC River Highlands was a swinging success, raising upwards of $100,000 to benefit dads who are receiving crucial support from The Village as they work to reunite with their children.

Since 2010, the golf tournament has raised more than $1 million to support The Village’s Fatherhood Engagement Services (FES) program, which helps fathers strengthen their parenting bonds, support their children and be a powerful presence in their lives. When referred to the program, fathers gain access to a support network comprising Village staff and other fathers with whom they build community and connect over shared experiences.

“Ensuring that families have strong fathers is central to our mission ‘to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children,’” said Village President & CEO Hector Glynn. “This tournament provides crucial funding that helps to transform lives. We’re so grateful to all who joined us to support our tournament and help families we serve be able to thrive.”

Following the tournament, golfers came together for dinner and remarks from Village President and CEO Hector Glynn, Village Board Member and Golf Committee Chair Brian Reilly, and Jabron, a father and Village client who shared how the FES program helped his family.

“I came a long way from where I was,” Jabron said. “One of the proudest moments I had with The Village was graduating from the [Fatherhood Engagement Services] program. It was one of those moments where I thought to myself ‘I can see a future.’”
