A Message of Hope

A former runaway and high school dropout, Mia Fontaine survived childhood sexual abuse and is now a Georgetown University graduate, bestselling author and national speaker.

Mia Fontaine is a twice-published author and national speaker. Her first book, Come Back: A Mother and Daughter’s Journey Through Hell and Back, was a New York Times bestselling memoir that chronicled how she overcame childhood sexual abuse and teenage drug addiction. A former runaway and high school dropout, Mia went on to graduate from Georgetown University and become a national speaker on the personal and social costs of child sexual abuse. She currently is at work on her third book.

Mia was the keynote speaker at our 2015 Girl Within Luncheon, which celebrates more than 125 years of helping young women and girls who need guidance and support to become resilient, confident and independent, and those who have experienced abuse and neglect to heal.
