With an extensive background in fundraising and development, Sarah Adanti brings a wealth of knowledge to The Village in her role as Senior Director of Development.

Sarah is responsible for The Village’s fundraising initiatives, including the annual appeal, major gifts, planned giving, and special events, with a special emphasis on donor cultivation and stewardship.

“I share an affinity with those who have loved ones touched by mental illness,” says Sarah. “It gives me great joy to be able to spread the news about all that we have accomplished as an agency and share our great plans for The Village’s future.”

Sarah has been involved with development for over 30 years. Her passion for the field began during her career in radio, where she was able to work with and help raise money for several local nonprofits. Inspired by her newfound passion, Sarah made the shift to working with a local nonprofit health agency and then spent 18 years in educational fundraising, most recently as Director of Advancement at East Catholic High School.

What is something unexpected that most people don’t know about you?
I’m an avid equestrian with a small, local horse farm. I’ve been riding and showing horses for 40 years, and am currently competing in the discipline of Dressage with my young thoroughbred Peter Parker.

What do you most want clients of The Village to know about you?
The mission of The Village is personal to me, as I have a family member who has suffered from mental health issues from an early age, and am proud to be part of an organization that is making such positive strides in our community here in Hartford.
