13th Annual Golf Classic
Monday, June 10, 2024
More than 120 golfers came together for this great cause, and with the support of our sponsors, helped raise more than $100,000 to support life-changing services that ignite the power of fatherhood and help reunite families.
During the event, we were inspired by Jabron, who was separated from his children and turned to The Village for the support he needed to build his skills and confidence as a parent, reunite his family, and be the best version of himself.
This tournament directly helps dads find hope, healing and brotherhood in our Fatherhood Engagement Services (FES) program. Together, they lift each other up and build the skills they need to strengthen their parenting bonds, support their children and be a powerful presence in their lives.
Thank you to our sponsors!

Kids Go Further with Fathers
Since 2010, this best ball tournament has raised more than $800,000 to support The Village’s programs that provide fathers with the skills and support they need to be active and effective parents for their children. Our Fatherhood Engagement Services empower fathers to strengthen bonds and parenting relationships with their children through intensive outreach, parenting education, case management and group programming supplemented with ongoing support to help each father through his specific circumstances.
This year we will be celebrating 11 years of having this tournament with special thanks to those who have been with us since the beginning.
Many of the young fathers helped by The Village have not had a father or even a mentor to serve as a positive role model.
Here is why children need fathers in their lives:
- 66% of African American children, 35% of Latinx children and 27% of Caucasian children live apart from their fathers
- 85% of children with behavioral problems come from fatherless homes
- Fatherless children are twice as likely to drop out of school
- Youths are more at risk of substance abuse without a highly-involved father
